Marta Gillilan Pastor, Teaching Elder
Marta grew up as a “Military Brat” and moved around quite a bit in her early childhood before her family settled in a small town in Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri- Columbia and received her degree in English Education. Marta has taught Language Arts in a variety of schools including 3 years in a Department of State school in Sofia, Bulgaria and in the Lee’s Summit School District. After serving in Children’s Ministry and as a ruling Elder at Lakeland, Marta attended Fuller Seminary and received a Master’s in Global Leadership degree. Marta lives in Lee’s Summit (technically Kansas City) with her husband, Steve and has two children: Haley and Nathan. Marta‘s pastoral role includes overseeing the small group ministry, the Fully Participating Membership process, the welcoming and newcomer ministries as well as other pastoral duties as they come.

Musical theater, theater, movies, documentaries, travel (especially to see musicals or places in movies or documentaries), reading and trivia/ board games. Being with family and friends is just about the best thing I can spend my time doing.
