Sarah Zung Early Childhood Director
Sarah has been on staff at Lakeland for five years as the Early Childhood Director and feels very fortunate to serve alongside so many amazing people. Being a part of ministry at Lakeland is a gift that Sarah is thankful for every day. Before working at Lakeland, Sarah spent seven years working in and teaching elementary special education. She has her teaching certification and master’s degree in cross-categorical special education from Fontbonne University and B.A. in English from Truman State University. At home Sarah enjoys being with her husband, Mike, her daughter, Anna, and her son, Sam.
In 2010 Mike and I spent two weeks in Europe split between England, Scotland, and Italy. On one of our last nights in Italy we had an amazing dinner at a small restaurant in the village we were staying in. Fresh fish, shrimp with lemon, pasta and pesto, tiramisu, and good wine. It was a night we knew would probably never happen again, so we savored it while it lasted and still think back to our time there with a smile.
I enjoy cooking and baking, sewing, gardening, singing/playing instruments, and making all kinds of art
